Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Power, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia fell 0.07% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL), which rose 3.31% or 0.895 points to trade at 27.915 at the close. Meanwhile, Rostelecom (MCX:RTKM) added 1.64% or 1.36 points to end at 84.11 and Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) was up 1.61% or 10.10 points to 636.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Surgut-pref (MCX:SNGS_p), which fell 3.20% or 1.075 points to trade at 32.500 at the close. Severstal - ao (MCX:CHMF) declined 1.92% or 20.40 points to end at 1043.40 and NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT) was down 1.69% or 10.0 points to 583.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 116 to 106 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in Surgut-pref (MCX:SNGS_p) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.20% or 1.075 to 32.500. Shares in Rostelecom (MCX:RTKM) rose to 52-week highs; rising 1.64% or 1.36 to 84.11.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.26% to 19.180.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.09% or 1.25 to $1426.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.05% or 0.03 to hit $55.27 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.24% or 0.15 to trade at $62.08 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.28% to 62.9840, while EUR/RUB fell 0.10% to 70.7275.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 96.762.
