Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Mining and Power sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia lost 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT), which rose 4.60% or 26.6 points to trade at 605.2 at the close. Meanwhile, Moskovskaya Birzha OAO (MCX:MOEX) added 1.46% or 1.34 points to end at 93.17 and MMC Norilsk Nickel (MCX:GMKN) was up 1.14% or 162.0 points to 14400.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NPK OVK PAO (MCX:UWGN), which fell 2.38% or 9.9 points to trade at 406.0 at the close. Severstal - ao (MCX:CHMF) declined 2.12% or 22.40 points to end at 1032.60 and Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) was down 1.82% or 1.76 points to 94.94.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 148 to 80 and 17 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.85% to 19.080.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.14% or 1.85 to $1283.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.11% or 0.07 to hit $61.87 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.14% or 0.10 to trade at $70.75 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.29% to 65.2797, while EUR/RUB rose 0.26% to 73.1300.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 97.270.
