Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Mining, Telecoms and Power sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia fell 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN), which rose 7.69% or 50.0 points to trade at 700.0 at the close. Meanwhile, Yandex NV (MCX:YNDX) added 5.60% or 117.50 points to end at 2215.00 and NK Rosneft PAO (MCX:ROSN) was up 4.71% or 18.05 points to 401.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p), which fell 4.87% or 8400 points to trade at 164050 at the close. Polyus OAO (MCX:PLZL) declined 3.63% or 145.0 points to end at 3850.0 and United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL) was down 3.41% or 1.060 points to 30.000.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 117 to 78 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in NK Rosneft PAO (MCX:ROSN) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 4.71% or 18.05 to 401.05.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.52% to 27.050.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.07% or 0.90 to $1305.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.28% or 0.19 to hit $67.44 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.10% or 0.07 to trade at $73.06 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.54% to 63.9099, while EUR/RUB rose 0.45% to 76.4153.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 92.52.
