Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT), which rose 6.07% or 8.00 points to trade at 139.85 at the close. Meanwhile, Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) added 1.70% or 0.0680 points to end at 4.0700 and SG mechel (MCX:MTLR) was up 1.65% or 1.80 points to 110.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS), which fell 3.04% or 2.780 points to trade at 88.610 at the close. X5 Retail Group NV (MCX:FIVEDR) declined 2.99% or 55.0 points to end at 1785.0 and PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) was down 1.15% or 27.0 points to 2320.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 102 to 98 and 20 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 1.76% to 23.980.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.15% or 2.00 to $1301.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.31% or 1.54 to hit $68.27 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 2.66% or 2.01 to trade at $77.50 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 1.24% to 62.0366, while EUR/RUB fell 0.19% to 72.2800.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.76% at 94.09.
