Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Power, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank OAO (MCX:CBOM), which rose 2.94% or 0.22 points to trade at 7.77 at the close. Meanwhile, Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRODR) added 2.21% or 31.00 points to end at 1,436.00 and Polyus PAO (MCX:PLZL) was up 1.82% or 217.00 points to 12,109.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bank VTB PAO (MCX:VTBR), which unchanged 1.89% or 0.00 points to trade at 0.02 at the close. Rostelekom PAO (MCX:RTKM) declined 1.85% or 1.72 points to end at 91.03 and Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) was down 1.76% or 1.13 points to 63.07.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 171 to 72 and 9 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 0.60% to 23.03.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.10% or 25.50 to $2,338.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.12% or 0.91 to hit $81.81 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.18% or 0.15 to trade at $85.42 a barrel.
USD/RUB was unchanged 0.01% to 85.00, while EUR/RUB rose 0.01% to 90.99.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 105.60.
