Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Power sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX fell 1.62%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Sberbank Rossii PAO (MCX:SBER), which rose 2.06% or 4.55 points to trade at 225.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) added 1.40% or 2.20 points to end at 159.20 and Detskiy Mir PAO (MCX:DSKY) was up 0.61% or 0.65 points to 106.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Magnit (MCX:MGNT), which fell 11.21% or 779.0 points to trade at 6170.0 at the close. VTB (MCX:VTBR) declined 5.63% or 0.0033 points to end at 0.0555 and AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) was down 5.15% or 0.635 points to 11.700.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 178 to 51 and 15 ended unchanged.

The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 0.38% to 18.350.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.35% or 4.46 to $1278.44 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.65% or 0.36 to hit $55.34 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.51% or 0.32 to trade at $61.89 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.19% to 60.1173, while EUR/RUB fell 0.13% to 70.9295.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 93.74.
