Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Mining, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX lost 0.71%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were SG mechel (MCX:MTLR), which rose 2.34% or 3.35 points to trade at 146.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) added 1.90% or 0.0685 points to end at 3.6740 and Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) was up 0.92% or 4.40 points to 483.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Yevroplan PAO (MCX:EPLN), which fell 3.26% or 21.5 points to trade at 637.0 at the close. MVideo (MCX:MVID) declined 3.03% or 11.00 points to end at 351.90 and United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL) was down 2.82% or 1.090 points to 37.610.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 127 to 97 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Yevroplan PAO (MCX:EPLN) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.26% or 21.5 to 637.0. Shares in MVideo (MCX:MVID) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.03% or 11.00 to 351.90.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 1.66% to 19.650.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.62% or 8.02 to $1295.32 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.70% or 1.00 to hit $57.95 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $63.46 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.01% to 58.3739, while EUR/RUB fell 0.12% to 69.5582.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 92.73.
