Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Mining and Manufacturing sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX fell 0.66%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL), which rose 1.77% or 0.710 points to trade at 40.750 at the close. Meanwhile, MMK (MCX:MAGN) added 1.71% or 0.770 points to end at 45.870 and MTS (MCX:MTSS) was up 1.54% or 4.45 points to 292.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Trubnaya Metallurgicheskaya Kompaniya OAO (MCX:TRMK), which fell 3.92% or 3.32 points to trade at 81.48 at the close. Magnit (MCX:MGNT) declined 3.03% or 224.0 points to end at 7175.0 and ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) was down 2.57% or 1.950 points to 74.050.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 125 to 100 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in Magnit (MCX:MGNT) fell to 3-years lows; falling 3.03% or 224.0 to 7175.0. Shares in MTS (MCX:MTSS) rose to 3-years highs; up 1.54% or 4.45 to 292.95. Shares in ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.57% or 1.950 to 74.050.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 6.30% to 17.880.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.86% or 11.06 to $1276.44 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.40% or 0.23 to hit $56.94 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.25% or 0.16 to trade at $63.77 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.21% to 59.1649, while EUR/RUB fell 0.09% to 68.9500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 94.32.
