Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Power and Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX declined 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS), which rose 4.94% or 0.590 points to trade at 12.545 at the close. Meanwhile, DIXY Group ao (MCX:DIXY) added 4.24% or 12.70 points to end at 312.00 and Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) was up 3.18% or 20.80 points to 673.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MMK (MCX:MAGN), which fell 3.29% or 1.315 points to trade at 38.595 at the close. NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK) declined 3.09% or 4.23 points to end at 132.60 and ANK Bashneft OAO Pref (MCX:BANE_p) was down 3.05% or 39.0 points to 1240.5.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 122 to 94 and 16 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 2.12% to 20.700.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.62% or 8.22 to $1338.62 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.19% or 0.09 to hit $47.38 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.70% or 0.37 to trade at $52.38 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.41% to 57.7537, while EUR/RUB rose 0.88% to 68.8200.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.36% at 92.49.
