Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Power and Manufacturing sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX lost 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Akron (MCX:AKRN), which rose 4.13% or 153.0 points to trade at 3857.0 at the close. Meanwhile, ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) added 1.57% or 1.160 points to end at 75.210 and Rostelecom (MCX:RTKM) was up 1.57% or 1.12 points to 72.43 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Detskiy Mir PAO (MCX:DSKY), which fell 2.36% or 2.50 points to trade at 103.50 at the close. RusHydro JSC (MCX:HYDR) declined 1.94% or 0.0165 points to end at 0.8335 and Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) was down 1.47% or 2.40 points to 161.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 112 to 106 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in Akron (MCX:AKRN) rose to 52-week highs; up 4.13% or 153.0 to 3857.0.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 3.38% to 19.430 a new 1-month high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.34% or 4.37 to $1278.57 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.18% or 0.10 to hit $56.84 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.44% or 0.28 to trade at $63.24 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.40% to 59.4467, while EUR/RUB rose 0.28% to 69.2600.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 94.47.
