Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Manufacturing, Power and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX lost 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were MMK (MCX:MAGN), which rose 4.89% or 1.680 points to trade at 36.030 at the close. Meanwhile, United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL) added 3.77% or 1.170 points to end at 32.200 and MVideo (MCX:MVID) was up 1.97% or 7.90 points to 409.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI), which fell 2.73% or 0.0237 points to trade at 0.8453 at the close. AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) declined 2.52% or 0.300 points to end at 11.610 and Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRODR) was down 2.31% or 17 points to 718.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 108 to 101 and 21 ended unchanged.
Shares in AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.52% or 0.300 to 11.610. Shares in MVideo (MCX:MVID) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.97% or 7.90 to 409.90.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 2.09% to 20.970.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.48% or 5.95 to $1233.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.58% or 0.27 to hit $46.27 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.39% or 0.19 to trade at $48.72 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.47% to 59.3615, while EUR/RUB rose 0.31% to 68.0100.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 94.95.
