Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Manufacturing, Power and Telecom sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the RTSI fell 3.32%, while the MICEX index fell 0.14%.
The best performers of the session on the RTSI were Transneft (pref) (MCX:TRNF_p), which rose 5.94% or 7180.0 points to trade at 128000.0 at the close. Meanwhile, NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK) added 3.27% or 2.22 points to end at 70.12 and Pharmstandard JSC (MCX:PHST) was up 2.65% or 25.0 points to 970.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NMTP (MCX:NMTP), which fell 4.14% or 0.0550 points to trade at 1.2750 at the close. AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) declined 3.81% or 0.480 points to end at 12.130 and Sollers (MCX:SVAV) was down 3.09% or 11.0 points to 345.0.
The top performers on the MICEX were Transneft (pref) (MCX:TRNF_p) which rose 5.94% to 128000.0, NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK) which was up 3.27% to settle at 70.12 and Pharmstandard JSC (MCX:PHST) which gained 2.65% to close at 970.0.
The worst performers were NMTP (MCX:NMTP) which was down 4.14% to 1.2750 in late trade, AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) which lost 3.81% to settle at 12.130 and Sollers (MCX:SVAV) which was down 3.09% to 345.0 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 88 to 46 and 4 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was up 1.07% or 13.00 to $1229.10 a troy ounce.
Elsewhere in commodities trading, crude oil for delivery in February fell 3.89% or 1.88 to hit $46.48 a barrel, while the March brent oil contract fell 4.59% or 2.35 to trade at $48.95 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.71% to 63.010, while EUR/RUB rose 2.27% to 74.518.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 92.27.
