Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia gained 2.13%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Gazprom PAO (MCX:GAZP), which rose 16.36% or 26.67 points to trade at 189.67 at the close. Meanwhile, Rostelecom (MCX:RTKM) added 4.01% or 3.00 points to end at 77.73 and Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN) was up 3.78% or 18.2 points to 499.2 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL), which fell 3.26% or 0.845 points to trade at 25.075 at the close. Lukoil (MCX:LKOH) declined 3.02% or 161.5 points to end at 5188.5 and NMTP (MCX:NMTP) was down 2.13% or 0.1500 points to 6.8950.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 131 to 95 and 15 ended unchanged.

The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 6.23% to 18.930.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.42% or 5.45 to $1296.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.46% or 0.89 to hit $61.93 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.77% or 1.24 to trade at $71.47 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.82% to 64.8934, while EUR/RUB fell 0.97% to 72.7368.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 97.315.
