Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Mining and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia added 2.03%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NMTP (MCX:NMTP), which rose 4.84% or 0.3000 points to trade at 6.5000 at the close. Meanwhile, Sberbank Rossii PAO (MCX:SBER) added 4.56% or 9.50 points to end at 218.00 and NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT) was up 4.48% or 25.5 points to 595.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN), which fell 2.97% or 22.0 points to trade at 718.0 at the close. Trubnaya Metallurgicheskaya Kompaniya OAO (MCX:TRMK) declined 1.99% or 1.55 points to end at 76.15 and Moskovskaya Birzha OAO (MCX:MOEX) was down 0.95% or 1.04 points to 108.58.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 128 to 87 and 23 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 4.85% to 21.760.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.27% or 3.40 to $1254.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.97% or 0.71 to hit $74.16 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.97% or 1.53 to trade at $79.14 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.17% to 62.6950, while EUR/RUB rose 0.81% to 73.1972.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.76% at 94.28.
