Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Mining and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia gained 1.95% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK), which rose 4.34% or 7.44 points to trade at 179.00 at the close. Meanwhile, NK Rosneft PAO (MCX:ROSN) added 4.25% or 19.50 points to end at 478.00 and Sberbank Rossii PAO (MCX:SBER) was up 4.24% or 8.31 points to 204.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN), which fell 5.41% or 37.8 points to trade at 661.0 at the close. Magnit (MCX:MGNT) declined 3.81% or 152.0 points to end at 3840.0 and X5 Retail Group NV (MCX:FIVEDR) was down 3.66% or 57.5 points to 1515.5.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 119 to 101 and 15 ended unchanged.

The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 4.74% to 24.330 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.96% or 11.50 to $1187.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.63% or 0.45 to hit $72.02 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.50% or 0.40 to trade at $81.19 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.57% to 65.4307, while EUR/RUB fell 1.12% to 76.3960.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.53% at 94.38.
