Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia rose 1.29%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN), which rose 3.29% or 23.60 points to trade at 740.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) added 2.55% or 20.00 points to end at 805.30 and MMC Norilsk Nickel (MCX:GMKN) was up 2.04% or 290.0 points to 14482.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SG mechel (MCX:MTLR), which fell 1.78% or 1.15 points to trade at 63.29 at the close. PIK (MCX:PIKK) declined 1.68% or 6.80 points to end at 397.20 and Surgutneftegaz PAO (MCX:SNGS) was down 1.27% or 0.335 points to 26.000.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 141 to 79 and 15 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 4.44% to 23.240.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.47% or 6.95 to $1483.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.44% or 0.24 to hit $54.45 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.38% or 0.23 to trade at $59.58 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.36% to 65.2846, while EUR/RUB fell 0.36% to 73.1063.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 97.420.
