Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Mining and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia gained 1.26%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NPK OVK PAO (MCX:UWGN), which rose 7.33% or 26.4 points to trade at 386.4 at the close. Meanwhile, Lukoil (MCX:LKOH) added 4.80% or 240.0 points to end at 5240.0 and Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN) was up 3.07% or 14.0 points to 470.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SG mechel (MCX:MTLR), which fell 2.89% or 1.65 points to trade at 55.51 at the close. AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p) declined 1.19% or 1800 points to end at 149150 and RusHydro JSC (MCX:HYDR) was down 1.10% or 0.0060 points to 0.5385.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 117 to 99 and 19 ended unchanged.
Shares in SG mechel (MCX:MTLR) fell to 3-years lows; losing 2.89% or 1.65 to 55.51.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was unchanged 0.00% to 22.910.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.76% or 11.65 to $1511.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.75% or 0.96 to hit $55.77 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.38% or 0.81 to trade at $59.45 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.58% to 66.9009, while EUR/RUB rose 0.65% to 74.2183.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 98.137.
