Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia gained 1.11%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Gazprom PAO (MCX:GAZP), which rose 3.52% or 4.89 points to trade at 143.79 at the close. Meanwhile, NK Rosneft PAO (MCX:ROSN) added 3.09% or 12.55 points to end at 419.00 and NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) was up 1.83% or 16.60 points to 924.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT), which fell 5.42% or 31.5 points to trade at 550.0 at the close. X5 Retail Group NV (MCX:FIVEDR) declined 2.78% or 48.0 points to end at 1680.0 and Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN) was down 2.67% or 20.0 points to 728.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 107 to 80 and 29 ended unchanged.
Shares in NK Rosneft PAO (MCX:ROSN) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.09% or 12.55 to 419.00. Shares in NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) rose to all time highs; up 1.83% or 16.60 to 924.40.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.35% to 22.980.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.43% or 5.20 to $1226.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.53% or 1.07 to hit $69.06 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.87% or 0.66 to trade at $74.89 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.03% to 62.2314, while EUR/RUB fell 0.02% to 72.8408.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 94.24.
