Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Mining and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia rose 1.05%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS), which rose 7.61% or 0.895 points to trade at 12.650 at the close. Meanwhile, NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK) added 4.17% or 5.75 points to end at 143.70 and SG mechel (MCX:MTLR) was up 3.17% or 4.25 points to 138.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Detskiy Mir PAO (MCX:DSKY), which fell 0.93% or 0.85 points to trade at 90.50 at the close. AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p) declined 0.85% or 1500 points to end at 175000 and PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) was down 0.62% or 15.0 points to 2405.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 139 to 73 and 21 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 0.12% to 25.210.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.83% or 10.90 to $1326.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.98% or 0.58 to hit $59.78 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.62% or 0.39 to trade at $63.18 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.84% to 57.8987, while EUR/RUB fell 0.63% to 71.0005.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 90.19.
