Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia rose 1.04%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Lukoil (MCX:LKOH), which rose 4.00% or 200.0 points to trade at 5200.0 at the close. Meanwhile, SG mechel (MCX:MTLR) added 3.93% or 2.57 points to end at 68.00 and Gazprom PAO (MCX:GAZP) was up 3.62% or 7.09 points to 202.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN), which fell 2.51% or 17.40 points to trade at 675.90 at the close. Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) declined 2.46% or 14.60 points to end at 579.20 and Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) was down 2.13% or 0.0875 points to 4.0175.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 130 to 107 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gazprom PAO (MCX:GAZP) rose to 5-year highs; up 3.62% or 7.09 to 202.70.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 0.74% to 19.990.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.90% or 11.70 to $1286.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.61% or 1.00 to hit $63.02 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.63% or 1.17 to trade at $72.94 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.10% to 64.5879, while EUR/RUB fell 0.38% to 72.1757.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 97.632.
