Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Power and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia gained 1.00% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI), which rose 5.03% or 0.0695 points to trade at 1.4500 at the close. Meanwhile, AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) added 3.09% or 0.290 points to end at 9.680 and MMK (MCX:MAGN) was up 2.60% or 1.190 points to 47.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK), which fell 3.55% or 6.46 points to trade at 175.54 at the close. SG mechel (MCX:MTLR) declined 1.17% or 0.81 points to end at 68.24 and Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) was down 1.08% or 1.08 points to 99.30.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 141 to 89 and 11 ended unchanged.

The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 1.14% to 21.360.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.67% or 8.95 to $1351.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 3.68% or 1.92 to hit $54.09 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 2.12% or 1.29 to trade at $62.23 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.53% to 63.9795, while EUR/RUB fell 0.69% to 71.6552.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 97.115.
