Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Power and Manufacturing sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia gained 0.68%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p), which rose 3.52% or 5800 points to trade at 170450 at the close. Meanwhile, NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT) added 2.76% or 14.5 points to end at 539.5 and PIK (MCX:PIKK) was up 2.75% or 8.50 points to 317.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL), which fell 2.36% or 0.680 points to trade at 28.090 at the close. Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) declined 1.77% or 2.55 points to end at 141.65 and Yandex NV (MCX:YNDX) was down 0.99% or 21.00 points to 2107.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 122 to 94 and 20 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 2.71% to 26.230.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.04% or 0.50 to $1312.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.97% or 1.35 to hit $69.78 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.67% or 1.23 to trade at $74.85 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.66% to 62.6122, while EUR/RUB fell 1.04% to 74.7976.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 92.51.
