Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Mining and Manufacturing sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia added 0.67% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT), which rose 5.74% or 6.00 points to trade at 110.60 at the close. Meanwhile, AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) added 5.68% or 0.619 points to end at 11.520 and ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) was up 3.18% or 2.680 points to 87.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN), which fell 2.50% or 19.50 points to trade at 760.50 at the close. MMK (MCX:MAGN) declined 2.19% or 0.985 points to end at 44.075 and FSK EES (MCX:FEES) was down 1.67% or 0.0035 points to 0.2049.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 129 to 96 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) rose to 52-week highs; up 5.68% or 0.619 to 11.520.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 1.25% to 21.140.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.20% or 2.85 to $1418.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.94% or 0.54 to hit $56.80 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.75% or 0.48 to trade at $63.34 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.18% to 63.4388, while EUR/RUB rose 0.19% to 71.5628.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 96.350.
