Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Power, Telecoms and Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia added 0.64%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were FSK EES (MCX:FEES), which rose 6.19% or 0.0095 points to trade at 0.1630 at the close. Meanwhile, Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN) added 5.71% or 43.4 points to end at 803.4 and Polyus OAO (MCX:PLZL) was up 5.40% or 224.0 points to 4373.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON), which fell 5.63% or 30.10 points to trade at 505.00 at the close. Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) declined 2.41% or 13.00 points to end at 526.00 and SG mechel (MCX:MTLR) was down 2.19% or 2.00 points to 89.25.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 105 to 104 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN) rose to all time highs; up 5.71% or 43.4 to 803.4.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 6.63% to 24.230.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.04% or 0.50 to $1205.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.40% or 0.28 to hit $69.97 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.23% or 0.18 to trade at $77.84 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.89% to 67.6377, while EUR/RUB fell 1.55% to 78.3933.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.51% at 95.12.
