Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia gained 0.63%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Surgutneftegaz PAO (MCX:SNGS), which rose 2.44% or 0.635 points to trade at 26.630 at the close. Meanwhile, Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) added 1.99% or 0.0890 points to end at 4.5540 and Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) was up 1.95% or 14.30 points to 747.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SG mechel (MCX:MTLR), which fell 2.09% or 1.34 points to trade at 62.77 at the close. Polyus OAO (MCX:PLZL) declined 1.17% or 76.0 points to end at 6400.0 and Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) was down 1.08% or 0.0129 points to 1.1781.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 119 to 110 and 15 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 0.56% to 19.640.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.49% or 7.05 to $1419.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.32% or 0.18 to hit $56.04 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.51% or 0.32 to trade at $62.94 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.31% to 63.2889, while EUR/RUB fell 0.21% to 70.5700.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.46% at 97.387.
