Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Mining and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia added 0.62%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN), which rose 3.71% or 17.8 points to trade at 498.0 at the close. Meanwhile, MTS (MCX:MTSS) added 2.69% or 6.85 points to end at 261.75 and NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK) was up 2.33% or 3.98 points to 175.08 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL), which fell 1.68% or 0.465 points to trade at 27.215 at the close. NK Rosneft PAO (MCX:ROSN) declined 1.29% or 5.55 points to end at 423.25 and NPK OVK PAO (MCX:UWGN) was down 1.22% or 5.2 points to 420.5.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 133 to 90 and 15 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 3.00% to 20.060.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.99% or 12.75 to $1271.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 3.54% or 2.25 to hit $61.35 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 2.83% or 2.04 to trade at $70.14 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.30% to 65.4760, while EUR/RUB rose 0.92% to 73.1800.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 97.555.
