Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Mining, Power and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia added 0.33%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT), which rose 7.51% or 40.5 points to trade at 580.0 at the close. Meanwhile, MMK (MCX:MAGN) added 2.71% or 1.230 points to end at 46.560 and AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p) was up 2.55% or 4350 points to 174800 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NPK OVK PAO (MCX:UWGN), which fell 2.97% or 23.5 points to trade at 766.5 at the close. Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) declined 1.76% or 10.90 points to end at 608.00 and NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) was down 1.53% or 11.70 points to 754.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 131 to 85 and 19 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 0.04% to 27.130.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.05% or 0.60 to $1314.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.20% or 0.84 to hit $70.56 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.63% or 1.22 to trade at $76.09 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.32% to 62.7456, while EUR/RUB rose 0.04% to 74.8650.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 92.54.
