Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Power, Manufacturing and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia gained 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NPK OVK PAO (MCX:UWGN), which rose 3.86% or 16.9 points to trade at 454.9 at the close. Meanwhile, Sberbank Rossii PAO (MCX:SBER) added 2.52% or 5.62 points to end at 228.80 and Sberbank Rossii OAO Pref (MCX:SBER_p) was up 2.06% or 4.07 points to 201.29 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK), which fell 1.97% or 3.44 points to trade at 170.96 at the close. Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) declined 1.62% or 12.40 points to end at 754.90 and MMC Norilsk Nickel (MCX:GMKN) was down 1.56% or 230.0 points to 14490.0.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 127 to 104 and 13 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 0.25% to 19.860.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.62% or 8.05 to $1280.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.41% or 0.26 to hit $63.56 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.40% or 0.29 to trade at $71.92 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.46% to 64.4379, while EUR/RUB fell 0.19% to 72.0325.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 97.600.
