Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia gained 0.22% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT), which rose 3.74% or 3.38 points to trade at 93.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) added 2.77% or 18.90 points to end at 700.50 and Polyus OAO (MCX:PLZL) was up 1.88% or 95.5 points to 5170.5 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PIK (MCX:PIKK), which fell 5.51% or 21.50 points to trade at 368.40 at the close. Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) declined 3.27% or 0.0420 points to end at 1.2429 and United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL) was down 2.01% or 0.485 points to 23.700.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 120 to 103 and 17 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 1.48% to 20.610.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.31% or 16.90 to $1304.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 3.36% or 1.90 to hit $54.69 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 3.43% or 2.24 to trade at $63.09 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.18% to 65.3086, while EUR/RUB rose 0.45% to 72.8750.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 97.762.
