Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Manufacturing and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia rose 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were SG mechel (MCX:MTLR), which rose 3.16% or 2.06 points to trade at 67.35 at the close. Meanwhile, Lukoil (MCX:LKOH) added 2.38% or 121.5 points to end at 5226.5 and NPK OVK PAO (MCX:UWGN) was up 2.02% or 8.1 points to 408.5 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO), which fell 1.61% or 0.0730 points to trade at 4.4715 at the close. United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL) declined 1.58% or 0.465 points to end at 28.935 and Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) was down 1.14% or 8.90 points to 770.30.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 110 to 107 and 16 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.63% to 20.630.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.42% or 6.00 to $1423.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.83% or 0.48 to hit $58.53 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.82% or 0.53 to trade at $65.16 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.13% to 63.4271, while EUR/RUB fell 0.38% to 70.5683.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 97.917.
