Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining, Power and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia rose 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were MMC Norilsk Nickel (MCX:GMKN), which rose 1.99% or 280.0 points to trade at 14380.0 at the close. Meanwhile, AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p) added 1.91% or 3050 points to end at 163100 and Polyus OAO (MCX:PLZL) was up 1.72% or 90.0 points to 5325.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p), which fell 2.40% or 13.00 points to trade at 529.00 at the close. Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) declined 1.94% or 14.50 points to end at 732.50 and Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) was down 1.84% or 1.88 points to 100.22.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 119 to 109 and 17 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 0.04% to 22.400 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.52% or 6.65 to $1297.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.41% or 0.23 to hit $57.02 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.14% or 0.09 to trade at $66.67 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.47% to 65.6639, while EUR/RUB fell 0.07% to 74.1300.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 96.945.
