Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Power, Telecoms and Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia rose 0.07% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL), which rose 4.83% or 1.390 points to trade at 30.190 at the close. Meanwhile, RusHydro JSC (MCX:HYDR) added 3.35% or 0.0172 points to end at 0.5304 and Severstal - ao (MCX:CHMF) was up 1.40% or 14.20 points to 1029.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT), which fell 2.64% or 2.78 points to trade at 102.44 at the close. ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) declined 1.73% or 1.720 points to end at 97.780 and X5 Retail Group NV (MCX:FIVEDR) was down 1.57% or 27.5 points to 1721.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 128 to 91 and 15 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 1.25% to 22.110.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.27% or 3.55 to $1318.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.92% or 1.06 to hit $54.20 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.76% or 0.48 to trade at $62.27 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.22% to 65.6488, while EUR/RUB fell 0.09% to 75.0100.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 95.597.
