Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Power, Mining and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia rose 0.06%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NPK OVK PAO (MCX:UWGN), which rose 3.22% or 23.5 points to trade at 753.0 at the close. Meanwhile, ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) added 3.10% or 2.750 points to end at 91.500 and NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT) was up 2.79% or 15.5 points to 570.5 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL), which fell 2.51% or 0.640 points to trade at 24.900 at the close. MMK (MCX:MAGN) declined 1.35% or 0.605 points to end at 44.195 and NK Rosneft PAO (MCX:ROSN) was down 1.28% or 5.05 points to 389.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 108 to 103 and 24 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.48% to 21.100.
Gold Futures for June delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $1290.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.43% or 0.31 to hit $71.00 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.06% or 0.05 to trade at $78.38 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 1.02% to 61.6938, while EUR/RUB fell 1.38% to 72.7892.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 93.27.
