Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining, Power and Manufacturing sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia added 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY), which rose 5.97% or 54.60 points to trade at 969.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN) added 4.29% or 20.8 points to end at 505.2 and Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) was up 3.49% or 0.1415 points to 4.1915 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SG mechel (MCX:MTLR), which fell 4.41% or 2.85 points to trade at 61.75 at the close. MVideo (MCX:MVID) declined 2.91% or 13.00 points to end at 434.20 and NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) was down 1.96% or 25.20 points to 1258.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 118 to 98 and 20 ended unchanged.
Shares in Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) rose to 3-years highs; rising 5.97% or 54.60 to 969.60.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.91% to 23.240.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.00% or 15.35 to $1552.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.41% or 0.22 to hit $53.86 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.03% or 0.02 to trade at $58.14 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.93% to 66.6761, while EUR/RUB rose 0.93% to 73.9779.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 97.877.
