Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Power and Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia gained 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Unipro (MCX:UPRO), which rose 4.47% or 0.08 points to trade at 1.89 at the close. Meanwhile, Polyus PAO (MCX:PLZL) added 3.47% or 426.50 points to end at 12,731.50 and Surgut-pref (MCX:SNGS_p) was up 2.27% or 1.05 points to 47.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS), which fell 2.41% or 1.47 points to trade at 59.48 at the close. VK Company Ltd DRC (MCX:VKCO) declined 1.98% or 8.60 points to end at 426.80 and PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) was down 1.31% or 71.00 points to 5,345.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 125 to 121 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in VK Company Ltd DRC (MCX:VKCO) fell to 52-week lows; falling 1.98% or 8.60 to 426.80. Shares in PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.31% or 71.00 to 5,345.00.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.74% to 32.75.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.61% or 39.90 to $2,513.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 3.67% or 2.82 to hit $79.66 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.05% or 0.04 to trade at $81.92 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.02% to 90.98, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 99.48.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 102.94.
