Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Mining, Power and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia gained 0.02% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK), which rose 3.41% or 5.18 points to trade at 157.20 at the close. Meanwhile, X5 Retail Group NV (MCX:FIVEDR) added 1.92% or 33.0 points to end at 1748.5 and Severstal - ao (MCX:CHMF) was up 1.63% or 16.30 points to 1014.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT), which fell 2.50% or 2.70 points to trade at 105.22 at the close. PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) declined 2.09% or 54.0 points to end at 2529.0 and Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) was down 2.02% or 11.50 points to 557.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 113 to 102 and 17 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 1.24% to 21.460.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.18% or 2.35 to $1322.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.64% or 0.88 to hit $54.67 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 2.04% or 1.24 to trade at $62.08 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.15% to 65.5089, while EUR/RUB rose 0.42% to 75.2018.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 95.175.
