Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Mining and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index rose 3.33% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were Severstal PJSC (MCX:CHMF), which rose 8.54% or 105.20 points to trade at 1,337.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Magnitogorskiy Metallurgicheskiy Kombinat PAO (MCX:MAGN) added 7.13% or 2.61 points to end at 39.20 and VK Company Ltd (MCX:VKCO) was up 5.89% or 17.40 points to 312.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Transneft PJSC Pref (MCX:TRNF_p), which fell 0.12% or 2.00 points to trade at 1,231.00 at the close. GDR ROS AGRO PLC ORD SHS (MCX:AGRODR) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 1,083.80 and T Tekhnologii MKPAO (MCX:TCSG) was 0.00% or 0.00 points to 2,384.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 238 to 8 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in GDR ROS AGRO PLC ORD SHS (MCX:AGRODR) unchanged to 52-week lows; unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to 1,083.80.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was up 1.87% to 37.66.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.40% or 10.50 to $2,621.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.79% or 0.56 to hit $71.16 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.41% or 0.30 to trade at $74.09 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 4.77% to 110.50, while EUR/RUB rose 4.23% to 114.92.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 107.88.
