Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Mining and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index added 0.59%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were Rostelekom PJSC (MCX:RTKM), which rose 4.22% or 2.50 points to trade at 61.76 at the close. Meanwhile, Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank PAO (MCX:CBOM) added 3.22% or 0.19 points to end at 6.03 and Polyus PJSC (MCX:PLZL) was up 2.97% or 436.50 points to 15,152.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were AFK Sistema PJSC (MCX:AFKS), which fell 4.22% or 0.53 points to trade at 12.04 at the close. Moskovskaya Birzha PJSC (MCX:MOEX) declined 0.17% or 0.31 points to end at 187.35 and Sberbank Rossii PJSC Pref (MCX:SBER_p) was down 0.13% or 0.32 points to 237.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 141 to 99 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in AFK Sistema PJSC (MCX:AFKS) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.22% or 0.53 to 12.04. Shares in Polyus PJSC (MCX:PLZL) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.97% or 436.50 to 15,152.00. Shares in Sberbank Rossii PJSC Pref (MCX:SBER_p) fell to 52-week lows; down 0.13% or 0.32 to 237.80.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 0.61% to 40.56.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.12% or 3.25 to $2,746.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.10% or 0.07 to hit $69.33 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.28% or 0.20 to trade at $72.65 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.65% to 98.00, while EUR/RUB rose 0.19% to 106.18.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 104.24.
