Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX gained 1.19%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS), which rose 5.00% or 3.770 points to trade at 79.170 at the close. Meanwhile, Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) added 4.53% or 21.35 points to end at 492.35 and SG mechel (MCX:MTLR) was up 4.44% or 6.10 points to 143.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Magnit (MCX:MGNT), which fell 2.50% or 169.0 points to trade at 6599.0 at the close. Rostelecom (MCX:RTKM) declined 2.38% or 1.65 points to end at 67.60 and MVideo (MCX:MVID) was down 2.08% or 7.90 points to 372.20.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 110 to 108 and 26 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) rose to all time highs; up 4.53% or 21.35 to 492.35.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.40% to 19.680.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.54% or 6.88 to $1282.18 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.44% or 0.25 to hit $56.67 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.16% or 0.10 to trade at $62.32 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.34% to 59.1451, while EUR/RUB fell 0.27% to 69.4260.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 93.91.
