Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Manufacturing and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX gained 0.85% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were SG mechel (MCX:MTLR), which rose 2.60% or 4.00 points to trade at 157.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) added 2.42% or 9.75 points to end at 412.10 and Lukoil (MCX:LKOH) was up 2.34% or 69.5 points to 3039.5 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Yevroplan PAO (MCX:EPLN), which fell 5.86% or 44.5 points to trade at 715.0 at the close. Akron (MCX:AKRN) declined 5.66% or 207.0 points to end at 3450.0 and United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL) was down 3.75% or 1.680 points to 43.070.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 131 to 88 and 26 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 0.84% to 16.810 a new all time low.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.07% or 13.92 to $1311.42 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.27% or 1.15 to hit $51.81 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.64% or 1.49 to trade at $57.91 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.38% to 57.6978, while EUR/RUB fell 0.42% to 68.3625.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.58% at 92.48.
