Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Power and Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX gained 0.39%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL), which rose 5.82% or 2.280 points to trade at 41.450 at the close. Meanwhile, Detskiy Mir PAO (MCX:DSKY) added 4.21% or 4.35 points to end at 107.75 and RusHydro JSC (MCX:HYDR) was up 2.73% or 0.0222 points to 0.8357 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NMTP (MCX:NMTP), which fell 3.26% or 0.2800 points to trade at 8.3000 at the close. AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p) declined 1.59% or 2950 points to end at 183000 and DIXY Group ao (MCX:DIXY) was down 1.55% or 5.20 points to 331.20.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 135 to 85 and 19 ended unchanged.
Shares in Detskiy Mir PAO (MCX:DSKY) rose to all time highs; rising 4.21% or 4.35 to 107.75.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 2.04% to 16.820.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.64% or 8.19 to $1269.91 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.83% or 0.45 to hit $54.99 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.01% or 0.61 to trade at $61.23 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.62% to 59.1035, while EUR/RUB rose 1.17% to 68.5903.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 94.87.
