Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Manufacturing and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX added 0.13% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Yevroplan PAO (MCX:EPLN), which rose 3.43% or 23.5 points to trade at 709.5 at the close. Meanwhile, Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) added 2.36% or 9.45 points to end at 409.40 and NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) was up 2.31% or 14.70 points to 651.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MosEnrg (MCX:MSNG), which fell 1.90% or 0.0585 points to trade at 3.0195 at the close. Severstal - ao (MCX:CHMF) declined 1.74% or 15.80 points to end at 892.10 and SG mechel (MCX:MTLR) was down 1.45% or 2.25 points to 152.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 109 to 105 and 18 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.85% to 17.420 a new all time low.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.43% or 18.89 to $1297.51 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.16% or 0.08 to hit $50.61 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.04% or 0.02 to trade at $56.31 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.55% to 57.7827, while EUR/RUB fell 0.26% to 68.9300.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 92.00.
