Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Power and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX gained 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Unipro (MCX:UPRO), which rose 4.08% or 0.0980 points to trade at 2.4980 at the close. Meanwhile, ANK Bashneft OAO Pref (MCX:BANE_p) added 3.58% or 45.0 points to end at 1302.0 and AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) was up 3.31% or 0.450 points to 14.050 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Trubnaya Metallurgicheskaya Kompaniya OAO (MCX:TRMK), which fell 4.31% or 3.02 points to trade at 66.97 at the close. NMTP (MCX:NMTP) declined 4.17% or 0.3450 points to end at 7.9200 and NPK OVK PAO (MCX:UWGN) was down 2.40% or 18.0 points to 733.5.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 138 to 83 and 14 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 1.50% to 17.630.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.17% or 2.22 to $1327.08 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.34% or 0.17 to hit $49.72 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.05% or 0.03 to trade at $55.44 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.10% to 57.5550, while EUR/RUB rose 0.50% to 68.8302.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 91.80.
