Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining, Manufacturing and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX rose 0.06%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were NMTP (MCX:NMTP), which rose 4.29% or 0.2550 points to trade at 6.1950 at the close. Meanwhile, Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) added 3.86% or 0.1435 points to end at 3.8565 and PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) was up 3.82% or 88.0 points to 2392.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bashneft ANK ao (MCX:BANE), which fell 4.08% or 151.0 points to trade at 3549.0 at the close. Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRODR) declined 2.82% or 21 points to end at 725 and SG mechel (MCX:MTLR) was down 2.62% or 3.75 points to 139.25.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 114 to 95 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRODR) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.82% or 21 to 725.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 2.76% to 29.050 a new 3-months high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.06% or 0.75 to $1203.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 2.25% or 1.09 to hit $47.31 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.79% or 0.92 to trade at $50.43 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.03% to 59.3991, while EUR/RUB rose 0.15% to 63.036.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 101.41.
