Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Manufacturing, Oil and Gas and Telecom sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the RTSI rose 5.48%, while the MICEX index gained 1.79%.
The best performers of the session on the RTSI were AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS), which rose 9.61% or 1.350 points to trade at 15.400 at the close. Meanwhile, ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) added 7.75% or 5.900 points to end at 82.000 and Moskovskaya Birzha OAO (MCX:MOEX) was up 5.51% or 3.84 points to 73.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY), which fell 3.61% or 22.50 points to trade at 600.00 at the close. Verhnesald MPO (MCX:VSMO) declined 2.94% or 300.0 points to end at 9910.0 and MMC Norilsk Nickel (MCX:GMKN) was down 2.57% or 290.0 points to 10990.0.
The top performers on the MICEX were AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) which rose 9.61% to 15.400, ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) which was up 7.75% to settle at 82.000 and Moskovskaya Birzha OAO (MCX:MOEX) which gained 5.51% to close at 73.50.
The worst performers were Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) which was down 3.61% to 600.00 in late trade, Verhnesald MPO (MCX:VSMO) which lost 2.94% to settle at 9910.0 and MMC Norilsk Nickel (MCX:GMKN) which was down 2.57% to 10990.0 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 91 to 52 and 7 ended unchanged.

Gold for April delivery was down 1.32% or 16.80 to $1260.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude Oil for delivery in March rose 2.88% or 1.43 to hit $51.00 a barrel, while the March Brent Oil contract rose 2.75% or 1.50 to trade at $56.26 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 3.02% to 66.302, while EUR/RUB fell 1.82% to 76.067.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.96% at 93.91.
