Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil and Gas, Manufacturing and Telecom sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the RTSI rose 8.78%, while the MICEX index gained 4.50%.
The best performers of the session on the RTSI were Sberbank (MCX:SBER), which rose 12.73% or 7.42 points to trade at 65.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Sberbank (pref) (MCX:SBER_p) added 10.76% or 4.25 points to end at 43.75 and Lukoil (MCX:LKOH) was up 9.68% or 227.0 points to 2572.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Transneft (pref) (MCX:TRNF_p), which fell 9.08% or 12990.0 points to trade at 130000.0 at the close. Rostelecom (MCX:RTKM) declined 5.44% or 5.18 points to end at 90.10 and PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) was down 4.26% or 79.0 points to 1776.0.
The top performers on the MICEX were Sberbank (MCX:SBER) which rose 12.73% to 65.70, Sberbank (pref) (MCX:SBER_p) which was up 10.76% to settle at 43.75 and Lukoil (MCX:LKOH) which gained 9.68% to close at 2572.0.
The worst performers were Transneft (pref) (MCX:TRNF_p) which was down 9.08% to 130000.0 in late trade, Rostelecom (MCX:RTKM) which lost 5.44% to settle at 90.10 and PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) which was down 4.26% to 1776.0 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 107 to 37 and 4 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.30% or 3.60 to $1214.30 a troy ounce.
Elsewhere in commodities trading, crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.12% or 0.06 to hit $48.59 a barrel, while the February brent oil contract fell 0.71% or 0.36 to trade at $50.78 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 4.28% to 59.981, while EUR/RUB fell 4.73% to 70.948.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 92.39.
