Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods & Services, Telecoms Services and Financial Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 1.24%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were GMexico Transportes SA de CV (MX:GMXT), which rose 4.38% or 1.360 points to trade at 32.410 at the close. Meanwhile, BanRegio Grupo Financiero SAB de CV (MX:RA) added 1.77% or 2.05 points to end at 117.99 and Becle SA (MX:CUERVO) was up 1.40% or 0.380 points to 27.510 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which fell 4.62% or 42.33 points to trade at 873.09 at the close. Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) declined 3.94% or 1.200 points to end at 29.280 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) was down 3.85% or 4.920 points to 122.710.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 156 to 150 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.78% or 9.40 to $1197.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.60% or 0.42 to hit $69.38 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.45% or 0.35 to trade at $77.80 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.21% to 19.4126, while EUR/MXN rose 0.89% to 22.4859.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 95.37.
