Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financial Services, Consumer Goods & Services and Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX:TLVACPO), which rose 2.40% or 1.74 points to trade at 74.11 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) added 2.01% or 0.40 points to end at 20.30 and Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) was up 1.88% or 1.040 points to 56.480 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB de CV Class B (MX:BSMXB), which fell 3.59% or 0.960 points to trade at 25.820 at the close. Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) declined 1.99% or 10.64 points to end at 523.20 and VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) was down 1.64% or 0.17 points to 10.21.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 185 to 141 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) fell to 3-years lows; losing 1.64% or 0.17 to 10.21.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.47% or 5.90 to $1254.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.59% or 1.83 to hit $72.36 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.50% or 1.14 to trade at $77.28 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.18% to 20.1886, while EUR/MXN rose 0.41% to 23.3377.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.68% at 95.00.
