Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financial Services, Consumer Goods & Services and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.86%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA), which rose 4.85% or 0.880 points to trade at 19.010 at the close. Meanwhile, Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 3.95% or 13.09 points to end at 344.47 and Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB de CV Class B (MX:BSMXB) was up 3.62% or 0.950 points to 27.250 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEGACPO), which fell 0.89% or 0.740 points to trade at 82.200 at the close. Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) declined 0.82% or 0.460 points to end at 55.350 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) was down 0.51% or 0.190 points to 37.250.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 120 to 118 and 14 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.00% or 12.40 to $1254.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.34% or 0.25 to hit $74.19 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.60% or 0.46 to trade at $77.76 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 2.42% to 19.4744, while EUR/MXN fell 2.25% to 22.7124.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 94.31.
