Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financial Services, Materials and Consumer Goods & Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.58%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA), which rose 3.63% or 2.310 points to trade at 65.890 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) added 2.89% or 3.160 points to end at 112.490 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) was up 2.64% or 0.730 points to 28.400 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Becle SA (MX:CUERVO), which fell 2.75% or 0.820 points to trade at 29.000 at the close. Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) declined 1.81% or 0.950 points to end at 51.550 and Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEGACPO) was down 1.69% or 1.400 points to 81.200.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 168 to 162 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.65% or 8.30 to $1270.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.79% or 0.51 to hit $65.41 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.17% or 0.88 to trade at $74.20 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.79% to 20.3633, while EUR/MXN fell 0.85% to 23.5881.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 94.74.
